  1. whoo whooo!

i got mine when i was 15 too and all i really had to do was say "mom, life is too short for you to keep me from doing something that would make me happy, soo let me get my belly button pierced!".

you definitely do NOT have to take antibiotics before you get it done, unless your piercing place is totally weird.

but you DO have to get this paper notarized at a bank... but that is all the preparation.

i took advil beforehand, so it really didn't hurt, but just make sure you buy all of the right cleaning materials [[mild soap and  saline solution - use q-tips]] and tell your mom to trust that you aren't going to let it get infected.

when/if you DO get it pierced, you should ASK for the curved barbell, because it is more covered by skin than the hoops that most people get, so there is less of a chance for infection.

  2. Well, my daughter also wanted this, and since I have one, I told her that she could IF we bought a piercing kit and did it ourselves, which we did.  Mom's just don't always trust that the needles will be clean at piercing places, and this way we could control the circumstances.  It's really not hard to do, and the kit makes it quick and very inexpensive.  About 20 dollars I think.  Good luck.  I've enjoyed having mine for about 5 years now, and neither of us has had any required antibiotics or infections!

You can put in the curved barbell, it's the best one for the belly piercing and least likely to get infected.
