so i have one rat and i want two. i asked my dad if i could could another and he said no. he explained that getting another rat means getting a bigger cage and ive tryed everything i could think of to make him say yes. ive tryed saying id pay for it, that id make room for the new cage. the simple should work things. but nothin does. his final words were precisely this: " if u ask it again i am going to get rid of the rat u have now". he didnt even want me to get my rat in the first place but he let me so i know he would get rid of her. i love her to death and i dont want her to leave. my parents are divorced and ive tryed my mom and she doesnt want any more pets except for the dogs we have at her house(she doesnt hate animals shes just has bought a ton of pets for me and my siblings and my siblings never take care of theirs. she doesnt want to waste money anymore). can someone give me any ideas of what to say?? to either of my parents...

  1. http://www.gomestic.com/Pets/Convincing-...

this site is how to convince your parents to get you a pet..

  2. tell your dad that you'll commit suicide if you don't get another one. or tell him that the rat you have now it's suicidal, and if it doesn't find a mate then it will off itself soon.

then of course, you would be sad and never visit him.

or you could pull that card.

  3. Well for starters, how about trying the following:

#1 Cleaning your room and making sure that it STAYS clean and tidy.

#2 Making sure that your homework is done and handed in on time.

#3 Sweep the floors in the living room and kitchen without your parents asking you to.

#4 Wash and/or dry the dishes.

#5 Do not fight and argue with your sisters & brothers.

#6 Eat what you are given and don't whine or make "yuck" faces when given it.

#7 Don't talk rudly to adults

#8 Always share with other kids.

#9 Go to bed when you are told to.

#10 Research the pet and breed you want to be 100% certain that it is the right one for you.

    # 11 Ask them about getting this new pet in a nice way and don't beg and whine about it.

If 100% sure that if you give those a try, they will see that you are serious about wanting to add a this pet to your life and family. :)

  4. Try showing them these articles:

  5. You could clean after your cousin's pets too, to show that another pet won't mean a bigger mess.

Keep them all clean, dedicate time for them, brushing them, feeding them, etc. If you don't get sick of that by the second week, you should try asking again.

Also, with your own money you could get a bigger cage for the rat you already have (only if it is in your own space, like your room), then wait some days and ask if you can have another. Don't nagg, ask.

If they say no. Give it up.

  6. why didnt you get two in the first place they will dye of depretion if you only get one.tell him you need two or the other will have a much shorter life, and it will be misrible of as long as it lives.

  7. If they tell you no, then they mean no.  They have their reason's for not letting you get another rat and you should quit nagging at them and just respect their desision.
