  1. Respect your parents wishes.. If they says that you guys dont have enough money, then dont get a dirt bike.

When you're old enough to work, then you can get a dirt bike. Your parents work and earn money to put a roof over your head, and I suppose you get fed every night and never have a day without food. Right? So respect what they say, if they say no. then deal with it.

  2. I'm 19 years old, and i'm getting a dirt bike too (i'd like to get the ktm 400exc, but it's kind of expensive, so i'l probably get a suzuki).

The best argument, letting aside that you've already ridden stuff like that, is that, first of all, it's the safest motorcycle to have. I know people that go enduro-riding all by themselves, because there's nothing wrong that can happen to you. The speeds are low, as opposed to a cbr 125, for example, and provided you also buy some motocross gear, you won't even get a scratch on you. The worst enduro accidents i've heard of were about broken wrists or ankles or stuff like that.

Secondly, the sooner you have your own bike, the better. Parents might not think that, but it's the truth. I regret now that i haven't ridden something with 50cmc, or 125 cmc when i was 16, because that's when you really have time to get used to it, and really enjoy riding. I have a friend who went through all these bikes, he's 20 now and rides a superbike, a kawasaki 636, and he says that his favourite bike was probably the 125. Smaller engines at a fairly small age really teach you how to ride.

So, other than the cash, i really don't see any problem, even more, i think it's a great idea. So, good luck and have a great time on your dirt bike.

  3. I know what u mean i had to do the same thing,

Tell your parents its something you have been interested for a long time, even get them to see you ride your friends bike as a demo to show them your safe and responsible

Tell them you will always wear helmet and protective gear plus pay for the fuel, tell them u wont let them down,

My mum came around eventually to let me buy a thumpstar 6 months ago which she didnt trust me on and now she approves me riding my Kx 125 large wheel becuase i showed her im not like the rest of the helmetless idiots who do monos in my street

    good luck

  4. no its not a way to get a dirt bike but ask them to buy you a pocket bike (mid bike) they are only 400 dollars give or take you can ride them on the street with moped tags and or off the road they are fast and perfect to ride back and forth to school if you are young. Also they wont feel bad bout buying it it only has a half of gallon gas tank and you can ride up to 50 miles to a tank you need to be 16 to ride but noone really cares though ya know

  5. If the 4 wheeler is both yours and your brother's, tell him that if he won't let it be sold, then he has to buy out your half of it. This will give you at least some of the money you need.

Parents often will barter...work for what you want.

Offer to do duties outside your regular chores, like mowing the lawn, doing the laundry, taking out the garbage etc. for as long as you own the bike, but for at least a year (so that if you wreck it, you still have to pay it off with work). Other chores you can barter with would be keeping the house clean, doing the dishes, cleaning the windows whenever needed, taking care of pets, and of course, maintaining good grades.

If they flat out say no though, respect it and let it go.
