  1. Statistically, college graduate earn at least 10,000 more than high school graduates (you'll have to look it up). You can mention the monetary incentive to him, as well as the greater prestige and credibility conveyed on a college graduate.

  2. Show him what he has to look forward to with out it. My daughter saw a lady cleaning the rest room we were in and when we left I told her--- Yes you too could qualify for that job without a college education. She is in college now! She wants a better life, show him life without the education he may change his mind.

  3. slam his head to te wall

no no, don't do that, that's the las way

find sum1 who dropped out college and regret it to talk with him. Maybe it would change his mind

  4. You can't. It doesn't work like that.

You can talk at him until you are blue in the face. He probably already knows the things that you are saying.

I did not go to college when I left school. I went through a series of dead end jobs before I knew what I wanted to do. OK, so I had some good jobs too. I worked on short term / part-time / temp contracts as well as job hopping.

The life experiences I gained have been of as much use to me as time spent in college. I now work at a day centre for adults with 'special needs / learning difficulties'. Because of all the other things I've done I have a wealth of knowledge and experience that I can share.

OK, I admit I did go to college and have done a degree and have never stopped learning in whatever form. I just couldn't have done it straight after school. It took time.

The opportunity to go to college will always be there and sometimes it is better to leave it until you have something that you want to study. That's one reason for gap years. It helps immature students like myself get ready for adult life.

  5. make him an offer he cant refuse....

make a deal with him to motivate him unless you did spoil him already and that does not work any more.

How ever, life is full of surprises, he might turn to accept college if you can make something else influence him, i.e. a girl friend or his mentor...(i hope he got one) and every human got someone to influence him/her good luck
