  1. My parents were the same way when I wanted a Xbox360 for my birthday, so I offered to pay half of the price for it, luckily I had money.. If you have any money.. tell them you'll help pay, If you don't have any, then you can talk to your parents, or get something cheaper, like a nano or video, there's a lot of other gadgets out there :D

  2. first of all do not whine. parents hate this. try bribing. there are lots of things to do around a house or apartment. tell her you would like it so much that you are willing to do <insert most hated chore here> for a month. also try to say that you know money is tight in todays economy, and that you will make every effort not to ask for any thing extra for a while.

  3. Convince them you NEED it. You probably don't, so you aren't gonna get one. Ask for a cheaper iPod, a Classic or Nano perhaps?

  4. Your parents are concerned about the money that they have to spend in order to get an iPod, right?

Well, you could ask them if you could pay for part of the iPod touch.  If you have an allowance, you could ask for an advance on it as well.

If you don't want to spend any money on it at all, perhaps you could convince your parents that you will use it for many years, and get their full money's worth out of it.  You could also remind your parents that it would have cost them time and money to have a birthday party, so they aren't spending money on that.  Offer to do a few extra chores to compensate, maybe.

My advice is just to convince your parents how badly you want an iPod touch, and that you are willing to put in a bit of work or compensation into the purchase if they still won't budge.

You could also check out eBay, I believe auctions have lower prices there and you don't need to pay sales tax.

    Hope my advice helped,
