I have a small Whole Chicken that I want to cook tonight.

How do I cook it .. simple.

Usually I just put some butter, salt and pepper on it and a little water in the pan and bake it til the juices run clear.

Anything different youd do?

Im only 21 so please dont give me like a Martha Stewart recipe or something!

  1. when ever i have chicken, i like to do what you do but i add terryaki sauce & garlic :)

  2. Mhmmm make a beer can chicken, take the cleaned chicken and put it on top (put the opening of the can up the chickens bumm) of A halffull can of beer. Put some spices on him and rub them into the skin of the chicken (chili powder with a little brown sugar salt and pepper are really good on it) then put it so the bottom of the can is on the BBQ grill, this is really easy to make and no dishes to clean when your done ;) the chicken will take about 1hour to cook for an avrage sized chicken less time or more depending on size

  3. Take four hours and smoke it if you can. Beer butt chicken is great, just prepare your chicken with a good jerk or dry rub, baste with mustard to hold the moisture (the mustard cooks off without leaving a flavor), insert full, open beer can into the butt of the chicken and set upright in smoker. Let it go for about an hour, remove beer can and wrap in foil and place back in smoker for three more hours. The meat will fall of the bones it's so good.

  4. Put it in the oven with some salt, pepper, BBQ sauce and cook it breast up until cooked.

  5. What you will need:

    1 whole chicken

    1/2 big onion chopped

3-5 chicken bouillon cubes (to taste)

    Dried parsley flakes

    Baby carrots (optional)

    Dumpling Recipe:

    2 cups flour

    1 tea spoons salt

    1/2 tea spoons pepper

6 tablespoons shortening or 3 tablespoons butter and 3 tablespoons oil

I like to take a whole chicken and boil it (bone in, in a tall pan with the water 1 inch above the chicken) and add chicken seasonings (the cubes, usually 3) and 1/2 a big onion chopped up. If you want carrots add the baby carrots as well. Lets the entire chicken cook (about 30 minutes) and mix together the dumplings.

When the chicken is ready remove from heat and let stock simmer. Remove meat and skin and put meat back into pot, being careful not to break up meat to much. Bring to a boil and taste stock, if it is to salty then add a bit of milk (no more than 1/2 cup). Slowly add clumps of dough made from dumpling mixture in with chicken, keeping at a boil. When finished making dumplings remove from heat immediately and add parsley flakes if they are available.

You just made the best chicken and dumplings ever!

  6. roasted whole chicken

    1/4 cup olive oil

1 envelope GOOD SEASONS Italian or Garlic & Herb Salad Dressing & Recipe Mix

1 (6 pound) large roasting chicken

  7. Season the chicken with garlic, salt, and pepper. Place in a large pot with chopped celery and onion. Simmer until chicken is done, then remove the chicken and set aside to cool. Add 2 cubes of chicken bouillon then add pasta noodles to the pot of water where you cooked the chicken. When the pasta is almost done remove the chicken from the bone and add the meat back to the pot of noodles. Then you have Chicken and Noodles.

As far as the noodles go you can use anything you have on hand - spaghetti noodles, rotini, linguine, etc. I prefer extra wide egg noodles.

  8. INGREDIENTS:

    2 tablespoons butter

    1 (4 pound) whole chicken

    salt and pepper to taste

    1 teaspoon dried thyme

    2 carrots, cut in chunks

    paprika to taste

    8 slices bacon

    2 cups beef broth

    DIRECTIONS:

    1 Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (220 degrees C).

2 Rub butter over the entire chicken. Season with salt, pepper and thyme.

3 Place the carrots inside the cavity, and tie the legs together.

4 Place the chicken breast side up in a roasting pan. Lay bacon strips across the top of the chicken, and secure with toothpicks.

5 Sprinkle with paprika. Pour the beef broth into the roasting pan - do not pour over the bacon.

6 Roast for 15 minutes in the preheated oven, the reduce the heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Baste with some of the broth. Continue to roast for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature is 180 degrees F (82 degrees C) when taken in the thickest part of the thigh. Baste every 15 minutes with the broth.

Remove the bacon and discard toothpicks. Roast the chicken for 15 more minutes to brown the skin. Transfer to a serving platter, and remove the ties. You may eat the bacon, but it is best to discard the carrots.

***I didnt remove the bacon...I just cut the chicken as normal and ate it with my chicken.

  9. if you have lemons- (from cocktails, you are 21) cut them and put them inside the chicken, and make sure you season in there too.

If you have fresh herbs- put those inside the bird too, but I def. didn't have any at 21, so wing it? And serve a date- they'll be impressed anyway.

    Have fun!
