I was 16 years old when it happened, I am 23 now. I still have nightmares, and I even take it out on my boyfriend. It changed my entire life. I even cry myself to sleep at times because I can still see the person's face. I have a little girl and I can't help but to think, what if something like that happens to her. I happen to be a singer and ever since that happened, my performance has never been the same, I don't know who is looking at me. When I see men in the area that i have to past while walking in a store I immediately tense up. Can anyone help me. I need a therapist, but I'm still afraid to talk about it. I'm not ready yet. Can anyone help me please!

  1. Honestly, try taking up a martial art. You'll build confidence, self-esteem, exercise off stress, feel more secure, etc.  And when you're ready, it's important that you talk with a qualified therapist.

  2. find someone you trust to sit with you.  does your boyfriend know?  if not I would recommend telling him.  he'll understand. tell him this, or have him read this if its still too painful to bring up in conversation.  You should see someone. there are many crisis centers out there that will help you in a judgement free enviroment.

  3. When you find out, can you message me then awnser... please.

  4. You are right you need to talk  to someone about this.  You want to keep the relationship with your bf strong for your daughter's benefit.  Your daughter needs to have you healthy in mind and spirit so that you can guide her safely and sanely through her childhood.  The predator who raped you has been able to live on through your life because you don't know how to stop reliving this.  Go to a counselor or call a women's crisis hotline and ask for a referral to someone in your area.  This is something you are going to have to take charge of to get past it.  Don't let that creep deprive you of living your life!  I hope you do something soon for your own and your daughter's sake.  Best wishes, you will find once you start to open up about what happened, you are far from alone in this.
