If you've got a TV card in your PC, connect the video player to the TV card 'in' and record the video to your hard drive.  then use that file to burn a DVD

I use an RCA VHS/DVD player/recorder. It is very easy to copy a VHS tape to DVD or vice-versa.  You can then edit the video  in your computer.
