  1. ok first play the cassette and record it with the mike at the same time. then save the recording and burn it to a cd. there is probably going to be some file conversion needed but i'm not sure because i've never recorded anything like that. if it does require some modifications there are programs that can do this i think. it's just a matter of finding them, and paying for them if you have too, which sucks. the converting process will be the hardest if it is required. good luck in your endeavor!

  2. i think cassette tape is very old type of storage article but i think first u have to copy in laptop whatever stored in cassette tape and after that u can store in ur CD......but i am not sure............??????????

  3. What you need to do is get yourself an inexpensive USB audio interface such as a Griffin iMic - this will give you stereo input to your laptop otherwise the mic input is only mono...

    More on USB devices here:

    Then follow these steps:

You will need to connect your cassette player to your audio interface, then play the cassette whilst recording on your PC. A step-by-step guide is available at:

    http://www.cassette2cd.co.uk/DIY/index.p...

(follow the link to ‘Cassette to CD‘)

The recording software is the key, there are some free software downloads available at:

    http://www.cassette2cd.co.uk/downloads.p...

I have used ‘Magix Audio Cleaning Lab’ and ‘Audacity’ – Audacity is particularly popular since it is free!

If you record to WAV format, expect file sizes of around 10MB per minute, or 1MB per minute for MP3 (at 128kbps).

Once you have your digital versions of the recording on your PC, simply burn them on to a CD (Nero burning software or similar..). If you use Magix Audio Cleaning, the software will burn an audio CD for you without needing additional software (assuming you have a CD writing drive of course!)

You will need the additional 'lame_enc.dll' file to export into MP3 - this can also be downloaded from the free software page.

You can also download a free PDF version of the step-by–step guide from the download page mentioned above, the guide is complete with diagrams and screen-shots.

Hope this helps (if you like the online guide, don't forget to 'DIGG' it....)

  4. its quite simple

    1. With the help of ur recorder(mic) in laptop(Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Entertainment\... recorder)

make it in contact with the sound of the cassette(either by playing it somewhere having good sound output) .

2 Store the file on ur laptop's harddisk.

3 For better result add echo there instead of improving other functions of sound.

4 Burn file onto the CD/DVD

Note: Sound recorder will save the file as *.wav but in most of the audio player *.mp3 format is supported.

for this u need some other tool to convert the file to *.mp3 format and the tool is dbAMP MUSIC CONVERTER.

Your mp3 song is READY :)

  5. you'll wind up with a real crappy sound quality. you can either use something like this http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=...

    or just download the songs.
