I found a website that search for datas that I need. Problem is, it contains tens of thousands of datas that is split into hundreds of pages. What is the best way to copy-paste those datas into excel?

Here's a reference of what I'm talking about: http://www.basketball-reference.com/fc/psl_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&type=totals&per_minute_base=48&year_min=1947&year_max=2008&season_start=1&season_end=-1&age_min=0&age_max=99&height_min=0&height_max=99&lg_id=&franch_id=&is_active=&is_hof=&pos=&qual=&c1stat=&c1comp=gt&c1val=&c2stat=&c2comp=gt&c2val=&c3stat=&c3comp=gt&c3val=&c4stat=&c4comp=gt&c4val=&order_by=pts

  1. That is a lot of data.  The trouble is it is it says "Copyright © 2000-2008 Sports Reference LLC. All rights reserved." at the bottom of every page.  This means that any way you want to use the data is likely to be unacceptable to the Copyright holders and therefore illegal.

In addition, it is very likely that if you were able to develop a method that would copy all of the data from a large number of similar web pages, the copyright holders have figured out a way to prevent it and to learn who is trying to download it.

    So the bottom line is:

There probably is a way to automatically download the amount of data you want from a set of open web pages,

But, in this case, it would almost certainly be be illegal and almost certainly has been made impossible or extremely difficult.

So your only remaining option is to contact the data owners and ask if the data is available from them for your intended purpose at a price you are able and willing to pay.
