Ok! I have spent all morning trying to do this last part of my assignment and it is driving me up the wall! I am following the instructions word for word from our sheet which tells us how to do it and every time I press 'graph' it comes up with error:undefined or error:argumentative.

Can anyone please tell me how to create a parabola using a graphics calculator as I think it will make more sense to me. I am using a

TI-84 Plus Texas Instruments graphics calculator.

Thank you

  1. X^2

  2. It's pretty complicated but check out http://education.ti.com/educationportal/...

  3. Y = x^2

  4. click the y= button on the left hand side of the calculator, right below the screen.

then enter x ^ 2 then hit the GRAPH button, and a very nice looking parabola should come up on your screen. if not, then there is something wrong with your calculator. there are a number of very simple things to do to fix it though.

  5. use calculator

  6. press

    y=

    then type in x^2

    then press graph

check your "window" too make sure

    xmin and xmax

ymin and ymax are all set up right.

or you can press "zoom" then select Zstandard
