As per microsoft this is the answer....

Do not use the following reserved device names for the name of a file:

CON, PRN, AUX, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, and LPT9

Since all the above names represent the device names they have already been reserved and hence there is no direct way of creating a folder with any of the above names

However, THERE IS A HACK......go to dos prompt and try out md\\.\c:\con ... to your surprise a folder by name "con" would have been created in your c drive!!
