Question:

How to cure cavities??

I have a 'small' cavity..... They ARE NOT drilling, as I know the teeth heal up fine.

As far as my habits... Have not had pop or candy in a long time. I am a raw vegan. If anything my problem was that I ate way too much fruit without brushing often enough.

Lately, I have been brushing more often, as well as rinsing with baking soda and water, also salt water.... I also rub cayenne liquid in it, from time to time.

As far as tooth paste, I do not use Fluoride.

  1. FLUORIDE IS VERY GOOD FOR YOUR TEETH, CAYENNE IS OF NO VALUE TO TEETH.

    SEE  DENTIST FOR THE CAVITY AS IT WILL NOT HEAL ON ITS OWN.

  2. Don't drill!!!!!  You can potentially "heal" this small cavity with fluoride which is used to remineralize the tooth.  Check out the studies!  It works!  To prevent decay fluoride is not the answer!  Fluoride ONLY remineralizes, decay is caused by a bacterial infection that deserves treatment like any other infection in the body.  Check out this website for more information and a doctor in your area that uses minimally invasive dentistry to treat patients.  I did! and that's how I know this stuff!  Check out www.carifree.com for answers!!!!

  3. Sorry, teeth do not heal like that.  You either have to have  a dentist drill and fill.  Or wait and in a year or so, they can pull it out because your tooth will be rotten and or abscessed.;

  4. I don't know where you heard that cavities can "heal up" fine, but if the decay has progressed past the enamel, it is not going to stop until the decay is removed (via drilling) and the cavity filled.

    I also don't know where you heard that fluoride is not good, but that is one of the most studied products in the dental industry, and it without a doubt helps to decrease the incidence of dental decay.  Also, if you hope to arrest any beginning stage cavities, fluoride is your best bet.

    Being a raw vegan doesn't have anything to do with decreasing the incidence of dental decay.  Like you mentioned, fruits are just as bad as sugar and vegetables are broken down to simple sugars as well, which the bacteria can feed off of as well.

    You didn't mention flossing, so I don't know if you do or not, but if you don't floss everyday, you're going to get cavities regardless of your diet, baking soda, cayenne liquid or anything else.

    I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but fluoride is not poison.  There is a reason it is put in all toothpastes approved by the American Dental Association, and it is not some kind of conspiracy.

    Like the other person said, if you don't get your cavities filled, they will progress and eventually need much more than a filling.

    Good luck, and if you probably don't believe anything that I just wrote, save this for a few years, and then see how your teeth are doing.

    I hope you do believe what I write, and if you do, the link below has some other helpful tips along with products that have been clinically shown to help decrease dental decay.

  5. Unfortunetly there is no way to "cure" a cavity other than to have it drilled out and filled.  You may be able to prolong having it filled by using fluoride, and have it closely monitored to make sure it doesn't grow too fast and reach the nerve of the tooth (which may require a root canal)

    The problem with you just watching it is you can't tell just by looking at it how big it is.  Once the cavity reaches the 2nd layer under the enamel (the dentin) it can spread much faster since it is a much softer layer.  I would go get it fixed now, the earlier the better and the smaller filling you will have.
