How to cure diseases of the heart?

Islamically speaking, how can one soften their heart and remove the blackness?

Muslims hearts SHOULD NOT be soft!

Those Kuffar have taken advantage of our soft hearts and are invading our lands!

We have to slay them. Only if they accept to abide by Shariah law, feel subdueded, pay the Jizya and LEARN bout Islam!

You should not hate fellow Muslims, but you have to be STRICT!

when you think that your heart is hard.. don't..asking this question means that you are in the wright track..a similar question was asked to the prophet MOHAMED .P.B.A.H and he said : that if you set and eat with an orphan your heart will be soften , and when you pray if you don't feel like crying for your sin.. try to remember it and that God is in front of you.. loves you more than mothers love to her child..and will forgive any thing

Quran : just by looking at it your heart feel re leafed..try reading it !

if you mean to clean your heart from the darkness of sins!! you have to repent sincerely!! Ibada'h is the only thing that can clean your heart!! try to pray and read Qur'an!! do more often Zakir, Zakir protects us!!

The best way is to read Quran and listen to its recitation. Expecially Surah Al-Rahman with its translation in your language. It just melts the heart away and is great.

Ya hayyu Ya qayyum, recite this. always remember Allah, Muhammad (p.b.u.h.)'s softness.and also pray to Allah to make your heart soft ~!

Diseases of heart can be cured by the following Amals:

By praying to Allah with full consciouness of His presence near you in regular prayers and in Tahajjud in early hours of morning before Fajr.

By glorifying Allah doing zikr and Tasbeeh.

By helping needy with sadaqats in addition to paying zakat for

purifying your nafs and your wealth.

By Loving Allah more than any one else in this world.

By Loving Allah's Messenger Mohammad SAW  next to Allah but more than your parents and loved ones. Allah loves those who love His Messenger.

Loving and taking care of creatures of Allah not by taking their freedom and imprisoning them them in cages but feeding them by leaving food and and water for them outside where they can see and eat. The wild birds and other animals who will eat your food will pray for you. I have a bird feeder hanged with the branch of a tree in

background. Birds keep playing on branching of tree and keep eating food as well with no fear of any preditor.  My wife does catering.  One day she left food for birds and said, birds pray for me.  That day in few hours she got a call with order of some food from a doctor's wife.

By loving you poor relatives and helping them with what Allah gives you if you have beyond your basic needs. They have right in our extra money Allah gives us.  I read one Hadith saying Allah gives us extra for the blessings of poor people in your neighborhood.  If you didn't have poor people around you, Allah may not give you beyong our needs. Some people say I don't have poor beighbors around me but Allah has not reduced by income. They could be right one way but Allah makes them spend on other things like sickness to family members, accidents and damage to proprty etc. etc.

In Quran Allah has insisted in most Surahs for 'Infaq''(giving sadaqat)right after insisting for Salat and Zakat.

By being nice to children even if they are not your own and Muslims in your neighbor hood.

If you can do that many things, I am sure health of your heart will certainly improve with the blessings of Allah.

May Allah guide us all on the right path of Allah and forgive our sins.

I agree with everyone above me, who say to cure diseased hearts are by doing prayers, qur'an recitation, dikr, and voluntary fasting. Also what Majeed is saying is correct, we should all love our beloved prophet Mohammad (saw) more than ourselves.

The last verses of Surat Al-Hijr guide us to three cures of the heart's distress.

(Al-Baqarah 2:286)... ...Remember: "ALLAH(SWT) tasks not a soul beyond its scope."

ALLAH(SWT) says: "We reveal of the Qur'ãn that which is a healing and a mercy for believers" (Al-Israa 17:82)
