How to curl or scrunch pin-straight hair?

My hair is longish, thick and straight...I hate it being so straight all the time and i want to scrunch it or curl it once in a while for school...can you give me some tips??

  1. So if your hair absolutely pin straight with no wave at all, it might be difficult to just scrunch it. But you say it's thick, so scrunching might work. After your shower, don't comb your hair (make sure you use enough conditioner so it's not too tangly) and flip your hair upside down, then scrunch some mousse into it. Then use a blow dryer with a diffuser attachment and scrunch your hair as you blow-dry it upside-down. Then hairspray it! If that doesn't work, a good way to get nice waves is to take a thicker barreled curling iron (1.5 inch maybe) and wrap sections of your hair around the barrel instead of using the clamp.
