  1. Yes, you'll need a jigsaw.

Drill a hole large enough to accomodate the blade near the outer edge of the hole.   Make sure you leave enough room that the drilled hole doesn't go outside the line, but close enough so you can start cutting on the line without having to make a sharp turn.

If you are using a benchtop power scroll saw you may need to install the blade through the drilled hole, cut the circle and then disassemble the blade to get the workpiece off the saw.

  2. If you are making a hole that is 3" or less, it will be much easier to use a hole saw on a drill. Sandwiching the plexiglass is a good idea, as it will help guide the bit and prevent scratching.

  3. if we knew the size of your hole it would be easier to answer...

  4. You also could use a drill with a hole saw. Use a block of wood on the other side so you can have something to put pressure against when you drill.

  5. spade bits work good

  6. Sandwich the plexiglass between 2 pieces of plywood and DON"T force the drill bit or saw... Let the jigsaw or hole saw/ drill bit do the cutting,,, take your time.....
