  1. Depends on >< 90°

Do you have a framer's square?

Use a piece of scrap to set up each side

For >90° I would put the square with the LONG end against the back wall and into the corner. Scribe a line along the outside edge and then continue it to the desired depth of the work top. Then I would measure the difference at the outside edge and transfer those lines to the material

For <90° I would move slightly inwards then note the new distance and plot from there as before.

Keep in mind, this is based in absolutely no professional know-how. I'm just doing a little creative problem solving.

  2. Make a template - use corrugated card board, hardboard or very stout paper (estate agents signs are good).

  3. If your not entirely confident about your scribing capabilities, one way to deal with this if the walls are plastered, is to mark the top height of the worktop onto the wall, use a level and make a mark all the way round the wall, then mark another line underneath slightly more than the thickness of the worktop, next chop out the plaster between these lines.Fix  the worktop to the wall and make good the plaster. This will allow you a little latitude with your cutting of the worktop.

  4. Get some paper.  Line it up along the wall & tape the pieces together.  Cut it where you need to to make the outline of the bay you are working on.  This way you have a template.  Newspaper works well, so does cardboard or poster board.

  5. If you have to ask then its best to get a carpenter into to do it for you.

it involves scribing the shape of the wall onto the worktop using a set rule then cutting and presenting the 2 to ensure  a full match is made and this would involove 3 or 4 actions to check overall fit.

  6. This is the same as installing stone counter tops. You need to make a template. It can be as simple as paper or cardboard or you can tack thin pieces of wood together against the walls of the bay area. You then place the template on the material you are using and mark and cut it.

  7. Make a template, and then trace it onto your work surface.
