How to cut & join laminate worktops?

We used to rip them sand the ends you want to laminate and then use clamps and wood glue to laminate them together. Then you can run it through a thicknesser or sander to get it smooth.

cut it upside down from the back side with a fine tooth plywood\paneling\formica blade in a circular saw. you can cut it face side up, if you pre-score the cut and tape over the line before cutting. the backsplash is cut with a jigsaw. the two cut edges are joined using miter bolts(sometimes called draw bolts) installed on bottom side and draw the two edges together.
