Hi to all

Please tell me how to deal a boss who does not allow their subordinates to rise.

My boss doesn't mention my achiements to higher level and put their name.

What to do. I am in very frustrating stage now.

He doesn't share anything to their subordinates.

My reporting to him only.

Advice please...

  1. Update your resume, and look for a new job. Good luck.

  2. Find a better job.  You can't do much about an unfair boss but find a better job with a better prospect of advancement and turn in your resignation to the old boss--walk away without complaining or voicing your problem if you intend to ever use that job as a future reference.  If you had access to a manager higher up then your boss who has some power and may do something, you could file a report with him but that could also be risky.  If the company seems to think your boss is doing a fine job already, there's not much hope of somehow working around him.  You could try asking Human Resources if there are any other positions available that you qualify for and put in an application that way, move laterally to a different department or different position where your boss isn't involved--but chances are they'd first want to consult your boss about your work performance and all and he may give a false report if he feels you are thwarting him.  You could try though.

  3. Well he won't leave,  so you had betterlook for a new job.

Alternatley you stay give him no ideas and let him stew. Of the two the former is the less frustrating

  4. Try to make friendship with your boss,And make happy him with your work and attitude even though he was rude person.

    Regards,

    John

  5. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer!  If you can somehow get in good with this guy and get him to respect you, maybe his attitude towards you and your work will improve.  Sometimes it's hard to "kiss ***" but if it will advance you in the workplace...wouldn't that be the sweetest revenge?  Do it!  And see what happens!  Usually someone in a power position can't resist a subordinate brown-noser...in their mind you are giving them the power and they will therefore be more easily manipulated by you into promoting your position within the company.  Sounds shady, but it just might work!

  6. Get a new job, mention what your boss is like at your exit interview.  Or if you have a colleague about to leave get them to tell your HR about your boss.

The only other option is wait until your boss is on leave, work doubly hard when he is not there, it may show the poeple on the higher level that your boss is just holding people back.

You could also try to deal with those people on a higher level yourself so they can see your capabilities for themselves.
