How to deal with a spider infestation?

Question

Raid don't work....spiders everywhere under floor boards every crack and crevice. Continually cleaning and hoovering them away but they still come back in their hundreds.

What to do next? At a loss for ideas and have a spider phobia. This is a council owned property and they won't take me serious. Wont send anyone to fumigate the place either. In a panic need advice. Have a plug in device but this job too big for it to tackle. Thanks.

Collect conkers in the late summer and put several in each room. For some unknown reason the conkers must give off a scent which the spiders do not like.

Replace the conkers each year with fresh ones.

we have MASSIVE spiders in our house ,easily 2 inches in each direction, mostly consisting of legs. we save up ice-cream tubs which we use to scoop them up and put them in the garden. learn to love the 8-legged freaks as they are carnivores who eat the more repulsive bugs, they wont touch your food supplies the way cockroaches do.just shake clothing, shoes and towels before using them, thats what we do.

Spiders are very difficult to erradicate. First thing you need to do, is seal up all the cracks and stop their pathways.

The only thing store bought that kills them is malathian. DO NOT USE THIS IN THE HOUSE with people or pets at home. It's very dangerous. Personally, I would hire a reputable exterminator.

You can buy an aersol can which produces a cloud and goes into every crack and crevice and get rid of spiders (seen it at Wal-Mart), but only for about two months.  They will be back.  Any product that kills spiders only last for a brief period of time, but if you spray about every month you should be ok.
