We will be traveling from las vegas to rhode island in a couple of weeks. (there will be a small layover in chicago) My baby is 13 months old and has never been on an airplane. What do I do to keep him calm and what should I expect?

  1. knock him out with a safe dose of baby benadryl or something like that. No one wants to hear a loud annoying kid on a plane

  2. Our physician suggested Tylenol 30 minutes before flight to help relieve any possible ear pain. Sometime I use the Hyland teething tablets instead of Tylenol. Also if your child is still on the bottle have the baby take the bottle or suck on a pacifier while going ascending and descending. My son is 18 months and has been flying about once a month since 10 months old and typically I try to plan naps around flight time. It makes life much easier. Try to sit in the front of the plane if you can. It will help sometime.

  3. If you MUST take the baby on the plane, travel first class as to avoid annoying the majority of the passengers, also the seats will be larger and more comfortable and flight attendants will be more helpful.
