How to deal with birds nesting in the roof space?

I think we may have birds nesting in our roof. We can hear very loud chirping every morning that sounds like it's comming from directly above the bedroom. What's the best way to deal with this?

first you have to locate where they enter the roof. Then you have to find out what birds you have there. Then you place a bird trap, that you buy or make yourself.

Or  if the hole where they enter and leave is in a  wall  you can buy or make  a trap door that acts as a one way door so the birds can leave the place but are not able to re enter.
