Question:

How to deal with bitchy co-worker?

I'm 17 years old, and working my first job this summer at Cold Stone Creamery.

I'm doing pretty well, but there are still little details that I haven't encountered before. I would ask her, and she'd roll her eyes and be really impatient. She's the "lead" and she likes to order people around like they're retarded.

I'm a naturally cheerful and optimistic person, and I'm trying my hardest to just ignore her unfriendliness... but I also want to tell her off in a nice way and get her off my back once and for all.

What do you guys think?

  1. Continue what you are doing. Coz your doing well.

And for  her...Dont be bother by the way she reacts. After all its not you lose.

You may seek advises from your superiors. Take up all those situations to the proper authority.

    Goodluck!: )

  2. There's always gonna be a party pooper at each job you have. She's old and bitter and your good preformance is rubbing it in...at least in her twisted mind. Just do your best. Ignore her, until you need to say something. Then tell her to lay off and go to a higherup.

  3. 1. This is a temporary job I imagine so I'd just go with it.

    2. She's probably a ***** because she has a crappy job as a career.

  4. well, you could just be icky sweet and nice to her... no matter what she does. it can really bother someone like that... or you could just completely tell her off / tell her like it is. it kind of depends on your personality though. try to find someone else who is having a simmilar problem with the same person and see what they would do. but since its your first job unless she does something that really gets to you, you might just want to ignore it depending on how long she has been working there herself...

  5. Next time she gets snippy with you, tell her (in private or at least where there aren't any customers)  that you don't appreciate being spoken to or treated like your a a child or idiot and ask her to please treat you more respectfully. After all you are still learning the ropes.

It is called "setting boundaries" and it works wonders! If she continues to treat you and other people rudely, report her to her supervisor and let them know it is creating a hostile work environment. If I were a customer and saw a lead or manager treating a trainee like that, I would definately report it to the company. That is unacceptable.

  6. this depends on how long you have worked there. Your first month or so, yes, she should be more patient with you. But if you have been there maybe 6 months or so, you should know your job and your questions are understandably irritating.
