    You can help provide a good program for the boy by contacting your Council Service Center and asking for materials for Special Needs Scouts. You should also have the adults and boys in the troop participate in DisAbilities Awareness training. This will help them interact with the boy so everyone has a better experience. Your Council Service Center will have materials and perhaps even a trainer who can assist you with this endeavor. Advancement can be modified, with Council Approval, that each individual Scout can achieve his potential. There are boys with Down Syndrome who have earned the Eagle Rank, and the other members of the troop have had a great experience learning alongside these boys.
