  1. contact the Special Educational Needs section who issued the Statement and ask the officer assigned to your child how you apply for transport, if that person isn't available just ask whoever is on the phone what the procedure is.

In the Council I work for the parent of the child requiring transport writes to the Special Needs section (address it to your Special Needs Officer) stating you would like transport for your child & give the reasons why the child needs transport.  Your request for transport should be submitted to their Panel for a decision & they'll let you know if they have agreed it or not.

  2. Your County Council will have a department that deals with this.

  3. You might try attending a council meeting, or better get yourself to become a member to the council.

  4. Just phone up the local council and ask who is in charge of that department and then write to him/her.

  5. If you get nowhere talking to the Council officers direct, phone or email your County Councillor. Their contact details will be on the County website (www.xxxxxx.gov.uk) They will probably be able to help

    xxxx is name of county

  6. Get your M.P. involved.
