How to deal with losing weight ??

You want to lose weight to feel better about yourself and to look good.

Your problem.. Your husband who insist on keeping you overweight ... buys unhealthy foods ( no whole grains, no fiber enriched products ) and junk food then sits in front of you and eats them...

How am I to stick to my weight program if he sits in front and eats... !!

He's huge and is not in a desired position to lose weight.

I Am .. I exercise regulary. Am in the gym 4 days a week, I walk 3 miles every other day, plus do some semi swimming in the pool ( am learning how to swim )...

I try to keep my weight program to no more than 3 grams of sugar in whatever I eat. ( doctor's orders ).

I have to watch my salt intake and strive to eat more fiber.

I do not, however, take any suppliments.

So, with this knowledge, I am trying to take care of myself but it's seems like my husband is not even trying and is trying to sabotage my efforts.

I do not eat white flour or sugar at all.   I have lost a great deal of weight... from January 2007 to April of 2008 Ihave lost 145 pounds... and now weigh 130.   From a 3X to a size 10.  My husband eats all kinds of white flour and white sugar and I am an avid baker... I make all kinds of rich, sugary goodies for holidays and just to have around.  In fact my mate has asked me to back off the baking for a while.  He is putting on a few pounds... so I am not doing it as much as I was.  

    My secret... well I just don't eat it... I have made a wall that I don't go over in my mind... it just doesn't pass my lips... ever!!!!   It is am absolute thing for me... at first it bothered me to see someone eat it in front of me but as time went on  I just lost the desire to have it.  I even don't eat any type of chocolate or ice cream either..   I now have no desire for it.  Almost all of my food is raw or fresh.  I now crave things like fresh fruits... berries, peaches and of course Bananas!  I dearly love fresh strawberries or Kiwis.   The only sweet thing I allow myself is honey... I will have a bit of honey in my herbal tea...  I also make my own bread out of whole wheat flour and honey.  But I don't eat a lot of it... only a couple of thin slices a day.  I eat meats like seafood and chicken mostly but I do treat myself to a steak every couple of weeks.  I have a hard boiled egg for a snack if I need some energy.  I also eat my main meal at breakfast... yup I have a supper like meal at breakfast.  But no food after 4p.m.   Lots of plain popcorn too if I need it.  My husband at first scoffed at my efforts and then when the weight started to come off... he went through the having lots of goodies around phase... when he found out that I was serious he quit playing around.  Now he is proud of my accomplishment.  But he says that it takes some getting use to now.  I look very different.  Good Luck to you and it is possible to block the cravings.  Meditation and working with yourself to take them a way.  Email me if you wanna talk more about it.


  2. i think you should talk to him. tell him you are trying to make an effort and his not making it easier. Or if he wont listen when you go shopping go without him buy healthily stuff and a little junk food for him that way you both get what you want.

    if doesn't work then go live with a relative for a little to lose your weight but state your not leaving him you just want to lose weight and its not easy when the pantry is full of unhealthy food.

  3. The most important thing is to stick to your healthy patterns, no matter what. You could try talking to him about how important this is to you, and take charge of the shopping so there are plenty of healthy foods. You can also work around your husband by doing things like cooking lean steak with a spinach salad, so you both have something to eat you enjoy.
