  1. In reading the answers it would seem YOU may not be in the USA?

We, here, have no detail about the context of the dispute or how you or the contractors handled it, other than the job is unfinished. We also can't know how YOU define dispute. Obviously not in a shouting match I hope.

Did you contact the owners? Did you attempt a resolution through negotiation? Have you in fact paid for the job? Did you investigate anything about the company prior to retaining them?

If negotiating in a civil manner won't work, at this point I suspect that some agency mediation, or some litigation are two of your very few options.

    Just my two "sense"

  2. Go to Trading Standards. If you've paid then you can go to a small claims court. If you've not paid then just get someone else to do it properly and claim for whatever they have to put right. You shouldn't have paid until the job was finished though. You can also get advise from the Citizens Advice Bureau.

  3. Have you paid the? If not you are in the best position. Just do not pay them, regardless of threats of court etc. Counter with a claim against them, in writing, saying why you are witholding payment and that you will get another person in to complete and put right the work and the cost will be passed on to them. Say that if they refuse to comply, then it will be dealt with by the small claims court for which a successful outcome for you will result in the award of all costs as well as the other money involved. If you have paid them then do the same with the small claims court although you are in a weaker position. Above all do everything in writing so that you have all the evidence you need to prove that you have given them fair warnings. Send all letters by recorded delivery.

  4. You can write a letter to the company asking them to finish the job to your agreed requirements within a certain (reasonable) time limit, or you will get another contractor to complete the work and you will then claim the reinbursement back from the original company via the small claims court. Make sure that everything is clearly documented, and take advice as soon as possible - your local citizens advice beaueau can help with this.

  5. Contact your local trading standards for help

  6. Firstly did you have a contract with the people/person carrying out the work.If you do contact a solicitor and find out the best way to solve this issue. If not as people have said get hold of the local trading standards and ask them to come and check the work and write a report.Once this is done you can take the company to court to claim for the shoddy work and also what you will have to pay to get the job done by someone else.Your local C.A.B (CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU) who can give you advice.

  7. Call them round to your house and when they are inside go and smash up there truck then smash up them.

  8. You need to go to the small claims court in your Town if you want to do it yourself or see a Solicitor...If you have got a pretty tight case, you will get all your costs back when you win.

  9. it depends on if you have paid anything yet
