Question:

How to deal with really bad water retention?

I'm only 14 weeks pregnant and I have major issues with water retention. The doctor thinks Ive gained a ton of weight when physically I know Ive lost prior to my pregnancy. I saw the changes in my body. I saw how clothes fit looser. Then they weigh me today and I'm 15 to pounds heavier than I was before I got pregnant. WTF! Im really upset by this! I had big swollen ankles and the doctor still thought I was just being a big fatty and dismissed my complaints of most of it being water. Thanks in advance for any answers or advice.

  1. Drink a lot of water to get rid of water, it works.  Don't drink all at once of course, but have it with you all the time, drink, drink, drink, and try to be near a restroom if you're able.

  2. This will sound weird but drinking a ton of water is the way to deal with water retention. Water flushes your system out, even the water you are retaining. The same goes for fruits that have a high water content. Don't feel bad gaining weight is a natural occurrence in pregnancy. Hope this helps, have a great day.
