I am from Canada, last week i drove the car to the states for a day and then it gets dark at night, and we were lost. so i got nervous and i drove faster than what it supposed to be and then i got a traffic ticket. but then i explained to the officer that i was not familiar with the area, it was dark and we were lost. she said she understand but she still gave me a traffic ticket. just that she also attached what is called a supporting deposition. now i just don't know if i should either plea or not plea the guilty. if i plea the guilty would i be duducted with any points in my canadian license?

it's my first time getting a ticket in states, and i am not sure how to deal with this. please give me some advice,

Thanks!

  1. Be careful not to say anything like that to the judge if you go to court. Being lost should get you drive slower not faster. For more tips on how to handle the court appearance in the USA, check the blog spot below

  2. Pay up to the DMV or go to court and defend your case if you have one.

  3. Hire a lawyer.  They can handle the whole thing without you getting anything you don't need.
