Question:

How to deal with walking on ice after breaking leg...

I am recovering from a leg fracture and am temporarily disabled. I expect to be back to work in September and am apprehensive about the coming winter. I live and work in Chicago and have to walk to train and to work. I'll have to walk on glass-like icy surfaces, hard-packed snow, etc. Does anybody have any recommendations on inexpensive slip-proof winter footwear? Thanks!

  1. get some of these! They're called stabilicers and they slip on over any of your shoes to prevent slipping on ice.

Also, get some walking sticks to help support your weight and help keep your balance: (you can have them with a sharp tip to stick into the ice)
