  1. Measure the room and all the stuff covering the floors, get some 1/4" grid paper and draw all to scale-make little cut outs of furniture and move them around. I still do this and I have design software.

  2. If in case you want new furnitures, you can shop online and you will have lots of choices.

  3. Here is a website where you can enter in the dimensions of a room and put doors and windows in where they would be in the room. And it lets you pick out furniture (ie twin bed, queen bed, sofa, loveseat, etc) and you can put it in the room so you can see exactly how you want everything before you actually put it in the room!

    Enjoy!

  4. I like Holly's answer. I've done that and it's very helpful.

    Tips:

    1. Be care of appearances. I have 2 bedrooms that are VERY close to the same size and 1 looks a lot bigger just b/c of the placements of the windows and doors. So keep that in mind. It can be deceiving to the eye.

    2. When moving furniture, use those "moving men?" they are the  round plastic with foam on top and they help you slide furniture around. WOW! I thought how!? until i used them. It helps soo much!
