How to decrease crud oil's price?

The (theoretical) way to reduce the price of crude oil is to either produce more (i.e. increase the supply) or use less (i.e. decrease the demand).  We have all heard and read that the supply of 'easy to obtain' crude is not increasing so the best way is to cut demand by using less.

Crud oil is cheap already.  I have some in my garage from my car if you can't afford any.
