  1. less weight more reps

  2. smaller amount of weigh and increased number of reps.

  3. Decrease the amount of weight that you are lifting. When you lift large, heavy weights, your muscles grow as you get stronger. Lifting lighter amounts emphasizes muscle definition over building muscle mass.

Increase your number of repetitions. Since you are lifting lighter weights, you will need to increase the number of times that you do each of your exercises. As your muscles gain endurance, they will become more toned and easier to see. As you get stronger you can continue to increase your "reps".

Also-focus on one muscle group each day. By decreasing the number of muscle groups you focus on each day to one, you give your muscles time to recover before exercising them again. This prevents muscle growth without inhibiting an increase in strength.

Add an extra exercise for each muscle group. An additional exercise each day will increase your muscles' endurance and enable you to quickly and clearly see a change in your tone and definition.

  4. lift heavy weights and follow a low calorie diet.  with out a caloric excess in the diet, muscles do not grow.

lifting light weights with high reps does not increase definition.  that's one of the most incorrect pieces of fitness information spread around.  you want to train with heavy loads around 80% of the one rep maximum.  it elevates the metabolic rate longer after exercise and causes a greater increase in both testosterone levels and growth hormone output.  light weights with high reps is old and outdated 1980's science and has been proven time and time again to not be optimum for the reduction of body fat.
