  1. Either restart your computer and try to delete the file without opening any other programs.

Or do Ctrl+alt+del and find the Process running that is more than likely using that file.  Right click and End the Process.

    Hope that helps.

  2. Make sure all files are closed and you should be able to delete the file.

I have done this when I am working on a paper and minimize the file instead of closing it.

  3. restart you computer then kill it!!!

  4. The best approach to solve this common problem is to find out which process is locking the file and due to which you are not able to do it.

You can use the process explorer to do that

You can find process explorer at :

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysin...

Once you are On to Process explorer Click on Find handle and enter the name of the file you want to delete.

The process explorer will list out the name of process which has locked the file. If you cant figure out what is the name of application

corresponding to process then Live/Google with process name

    Thanks

  5. You should use this program called, "Unlocker".
