  1. Configure Your History Settings

    Step1

Open the Firefox browser. Mac users will select Tools from the top menu list, and Windows users will select Tools. Select Options for Windows and Preferences for Macs.

    Step2

Click on the Privacy icon. The first option listed allows you to set the number of days for which you want Firefox to remember the Web pages you've visited.

    Step3

Type in the number of days for which you want your history saved. You may also elect to have Firefox remember what you enter in forms and the search bar, as well as remember what you've downloaded. Windows users should then click on the 'Ok' button to lock in the new changes, while Mac users need only close the preferences box to save the new information.

Delete Your Web History in Firefox

    Step1

Re-open the Options (Windows) or Preferences (Mac) box and click on the Privacy icon.

    Step2

Hit the 'Clear Now' button located in the Private Data section. A new box will open with multiple options for clearing your history.

    Step3

Check any or all of the boxes that will delete your Web history. You can choose to delete cookies, cache and browsing history.

    Step4

Press the 'Clear Private Data Now' button to delete all of your Web history.

  2. If your using firefox, you need to go to history at the top of the page where it says: file edit view etc, and at the bottom it should say "show in sidebar" click that and then all your search history will come up to the left of the screen then right click it all individually and delete

Why? have you been on naughty sites??? only joking lol

    I hope this helped you

  3. You can clean history from Firefox's Tools>Options>Privacy tab under Private Data.  Click Clear Now button to clear what you want.  Or, if you want to selectively clear sites, press Ctrl + H and go down the history list displayed and highlight/delete as you go ones you want to erase.

Same is similar for IE under Internet Options.  Best is to download and use CCleaner which does a very good job of cleaning history, cookies and other "c**p" from your computer.

  4. Download CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com

If you only cleared the history from within your Web browser, it can be easily recovered. History is also stored in the registry and .dat files which can be read with special software. These files keep logs of everything you do. CCleaner will delete all traces of your online activity including the index.dat files making a restore nearly impossible - just make sure to enable the "secure" delete option. CCleaner is free and highly recommended.
