Question:

How to delete favorites?

I am using Windows Internet Explorer, I have several hundred listings in my "Favorites" list, can anyone tell me if there is a way to "snag" or "highlite" 20 or 30 of them at a time, to delete them from the list all at once. Instead of having to right click on each and every one of them one at a time, then clicking on delete. This would save me worlds of time if anyone can help me out here. Thanks for any help.

  1. To delete on-mass, the easiest way is to open your Favourites folder in Windows Explorer.

Open windows explorer and navigate to C:\Documents and Settings. Open the folder that is named the same as your logon and there is a "Favourites" folder there. Open that and you see the links that your have saved before. Just delete the links your do not want.

You may have to open the "Administrator" and "All Users" favourtes as well to see if there are any more you do not want.

Do not delete the Favoutites folder totally - I do not know what happens if you do that.

  2. Hold down your shift key while you click it will highlight multiple clicks at a time, for a chunk hold down the control key, click the top link then the bottom and it will highlight them all =)
