Hi, I've got a problem with my computer.

I can't start it because i have 640K space left. Safe Mode won't work, system repair won't work ....

Is there a way to delete some unnecessary files from my C disk? I just need a few MB of space so that I could start Windows.

  1. Download a Linux Live CD and boot your computer from that.  Or go to bootdisk.com and download an MS-DOS boot floppy image.

  2. You will need to boot on another copy of windows, and plug your full hard drive in to access / modify it files.  This will require some skill and knowledge of the insides of a computer.

Take your hard drive out of your computer, purchase an IDA or SATA to USB adapter (look at the diagrams for each, to find out which your hard drive is), plug it into the adapter, plug the adapter into DIFFERENT computer that has windows (like a friend's PC or laptop).

Your hard drive will appear as another drive on your friend's computer in the "My Computer" window.  Open your drive, and presto, you can access your files. Good luck!

  3. boot into dos mode/command prompt then through the command line, access the file you think you don't or won't need anymore. like unnecessary images, big files etc. or other saved files which you can recover again and delete it. by that probably you can gain extra space to start windows again. back up important files when you get it all back.

  4. Try using your flash drive and see if it could help.
