  1. Clear search history in Y! toolbar: http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/toolbar/to...

However, if you wish to delete search history saved by the browser and auto-filled when you type on the yahoo website, here is the solution:

To clear your history from Internet Explorer:

    1. Go to the "Tools" menu.

    2. Select "Internet Options."

    3. Click the "General" tab.

    4. Click the "Clear History" button. To completely disable the history function, set "Days to keep pages in history" to zero.

To clear your history from Mozilla Firefox:

    1. Go to the "Tools" menu.

    2. Select "Options" > "Privacy" > "History."

    3. Click on "Clear." To completely disable the history function, set "Remember visited pages for the last X days" to zero ("0").

    4. Click "OK" to exit.

  2. For Internet Explorer:Click on Tools. Then Internet Options. Click on Content and then Auto Complete. Then click on Clear Forms. This will erase your search history. If you don't want things showing up again in your search history then deselect the Auto Complete options at the top. Be sure to select apply or ok at the bottom.

  3. **Removal of items on your search bar**

On the right side of the bar before you get to the web search button click on the bar (you may have to click it a few times) will open a drop down box that will bring you at the front of items you searched for.

Place your mouse pointer over the first item and you will see it highlight. Do not click the item just leave your mouse where it is and hit the delete button on your keyboard. The item will vanish and the next will take its place and become highlighted. Just keep hitting the delete button and watch them go away.

This will work for any browser.
