How to deoderize a p**p smell?

My toddler made the mother-of-all p**p messes this morning. Even though it's all cleaned up, the smell is everywhere. How can I deodorize that awful smell? I usually will only use non-toxic, natural household cleaners, but I'm desperate, so ALL suggestions are welcome!

  1. Two suggestions:

Boil a small pot of water with some cloves or cinnamon (if the smell is near the kitchen). Cloves work the best here.

Place a plate that has either cloves or cinnamon on it in the room that smells. The smell of it will dissipate the poo smell. Cinnamon works best in this situation.

Use whichever you have in the house.

  2. oust or lysol!

  3. vinegar it disenfects as well

  4. Fabreeze Air Spray works wonderful for this type of smell.

  5. You didn't say if the area that needed the help was carpet, wood, laminate etc... If it's carpet I would treat the area(s) with a laundry pretreater and go over the spot(s) with a bucket of soapy water.... If you have a wet dry vacuum NOW would be a terrifc time to use it.. Just be sure to remove the paper filter for wet applications.... Use the wet/dry shopvac as an extracter and that should take care of the mess/odor...

If you don't want to go through all that- you can sprinkle baking soda on your carpets and leave on overnight... Vacuum it up the next morning that should take care of the odor...

I have 2 toddlers I'm potty training and they can surely make a mess... It was much easier potty training the dog!

    Good luck

  6. frebreeze the place . . . .

  7. White vinegar or bicarbonate of soda both are good at neutralizing smells.  Also open the place up to let fresh air circulate.

  8. Sarah throw it in the trash and close bag.   Spray lysol neutra Air.

    Good Luck

  9. wherever the mess happened rub some lemons...lemons are a very good deodorrizor for all things including the fridge

  10. Try some Febreeze; it always works good for me.  Also, make absolutely sure that you got ALL the p**p up.  Try wiping the area you cleaned him/her up with some white vinegar.
