im designing a steel pole which will be used as service drop wire attachment. approximate distance of wire is 50 meters.

  1. wat is the pole for....?...the size and the anchoring details all depends on the usage.....more info needed.

    most probably u will need a 100X100X10mm thk galvanised steel section.

    at the top u can weld "branching out" smaller sections of 20X20X5mm thk to hang your cables.

    at the base u need an RC base of at least  1000x1000x200thk.

    the pole must have a baseplate of at least 8 mm thk wit at least 4 m10 steel anchors.

    last and most important....have this verified by a professional CS engineer.

That depends on the pole height, the pole is subject to it's own weight, and the wind pressure, and will be designed as a long cantilever with fixed at the pole foundation, all moments will be on the foundation and the base plate, which shall be supported on the foundation with a long anchor bolts.

    The pole will have larger diameter at the base and can be reduced as you go up. off course the pole has to be from steel pipes
