How to determine the corrected reduced level using the rise and fall method in surveying

  1. its done in table form & is basically BS - FS to give a rise or a fall.

    if its a rise add it to the reduced level. If its a fall take it away.

    (you should have been given a bench mark for a level for the starting point - i.e the reduced level starting point - 25.000 metres in this example)

    you can see the pattern hopefully, the * mean a space as the formatting of yahoo ruins the table.

    1.821 - 1.422 = a rise of 0.399  therefore 25.000 become 25.399

    0.722 - 2.965 = a fal of 2.193 there 25.399 becomes 23.206
