  1. Match the spectral composition of the light with the absorption spectrum of the object.


  2. use the color wheel.

    for example, the object is red, then you use yellow light,

    red + yellow = orange

    when 2 primary colors are mixed, you'll have a secondary color...

    created by mixing either all three primary colors or a primary and secondary color will result to a tertiary color.


  3. It can either absorb it and look black, or reflect it and look various shades of that non-white.
