  1. The first answer is one way. Also be sure to know what you are talking about.. if it is a product.. know it thoroughly..

take a couple deep breaths before you begin.

As you speak, look around the room and meet the eyes of someone who looks interested in what you are saying.

Speak with love and joy.. and do not talk too fast.   ps  look your best,,

    You will do well.

  2. Everything that everybody else has said is good. But there is no way of avoiding being nervous. Memorizing and practicing the speech definitely helps.

But what helps me the most is keeping in mind: when I'm giving a speech, there is something I would like to say, something I'd like the public to know. And I WANT to deliver it; I WANT people to know about it.

Also, it helps to know that you're the best looking person in the room. So groom yourself. =)

  3. 1. Know what you are talking about.

    2. Have your speech in front of you.  It should be printed in slightly larger than normal size type, only on 1 side of plain paper sheets, pages should be numbered.

    3. Stand up straight.  No fidgeting.  Hold on to the podium if you have to.

    4. Know your speech well enough so that you can look up at the audience from time to time.  Don't bury your face in the podium.  People will neither hear nor listen to you.

    5. Speak slowly and clearly.  Do not shout.  If it feels that you're talking too slowly, then you're probably talking at the right speed.

    6. If you make a mistake, don't bumble around like a nitwit.  Just correct yourself and press on.  People make mistakes.

    7. Wear clothes that make you feel good about yourself.  Wear comfortable shoes.

    8. Have a glass of water at hand.

    9. Make sure to pee before you go on.

    10.  Remember that the audience is there because the people want to hear what you have to say.  Nobody's going to bite you or anything like that.

  4. take every opportunity to practice...it is the only way.  No one is comfortable speaking in public, try to speak from the heart and  you will have an easier time getting over that first few minutes of trepidation.
