  1. -Split room into areas eg: messy area, quiet area, roleplay area so the children can explore with all the facilities and appropraite equipment nearby...also by having a messy area we can make sure its not close to quiet area as this would clash in terms of purpose!!!

-Not too much to look at at one time-too much clutter, too much colour, too much noise is too many senses to take in at one time and may simply cause behaviorual and concerntration difficulties.

-Images/posters on walls at the childrens eye-level to stimualte play ideas, show the wider world etc. Also displays of the kids work to boost self-esteem.

-Room at activities for more than one child so children can observe, imitate and work together with other children.

-Have new experiences, things that are open ended and kids can decide how to use them...this means chidlren arent restricted to adult only ideas and can be imaginative.

-Labels (picture labels) so kids can see where toys are (esp good for tidying up), drink areas etc.

-Space for children to move around and extend their games!

  2. Get lots of colorful beautiful birds wall paper that the children will look at.

  3. we rotate our toys every month - it's a pain but it works and it cuts back on behavior problems and the children are always engaged in something new and fun.
