  1. this web site has some dial-around plans you can purchase..

  2. 1016868 7.9 cent a minute + 39 cent connection fee and lec billing fee and universal service fund fee

  3. if you don't have any LD provider, then you gotta buy a calling card.....or better yet....call for free from your computer!

  4. Try 1010-YAK (or, 1010-925)

Any number that begins with 1010 is a designated "dial-around" long distance alternative service.

If a "dial-around" LD access number doesn't begin with 1010, then it is probably a local access number for a calling card service.

The beauty of 1010 dial-around numbers is that they have a deal with your local telephone provider such that any calls you make through their 1010 gateway numbers will usually be directly billed on your regular monthly telephone bill.

Keep in mind that 1010 numbers only work from regular home phones, but not from public phones.  The charges will always show-up on the phone owners phone bill.

I used Yak here in Canada a few years ago before I started using VoIP from my PC.  It worked good and the rates were cheaper than regular LD providers.

  5. why not just get a phone card? It gives you a local number to call, you enter the pin # from the card and then you can dial your number.

This is what I do. I blocked my cell from making International calls and now that my spouse is back in the Islands...i LIVE off those phone cards. This way if I don't have the money I can't call...no surprise LD bills later . LOL
