Hi!!

I wuz just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to dig a big hole. It has to be about 6ft long by 2 feet wide by 6ft deep. Do you know what kind of shovel I should use? Also, is there any reason digging at night would be more difficult than in the daytime? (other than it being dark, lol.)

Thankee!!!1!

  1. Are you digging a grave? Just kidding....Preferably a pointy ended one to start and when you get nearer the bottom use a flat bladed shovel.

Day or night makes no difference unless it is the middle winter, then it is harder!

  2. Use a shovel.

Since you are digging a grave for a person or animal, I would consider doing it somewhere as far away from where you live as possible.

You’d be much better off digging at night regardless of the obstacles.

Make as little noise as possible and park your car as far away as is reasonable to walk to the site. You don’t want to leave tire tracks or have your car seen.

Although it would be virtually impossible to leave the scene without leaving behind forensic evidence – use the same items each time you dig and dispose of all the items you have used. Don’t wash them and save them in the garage. Not only will you be front page news but you will have a segment on “Worlds Dumbest Criminals”.

It would be wise to sell your mode of transportation also since there will be soil particles and a number of other unseen (by you) pieces of evidence you will inevitably bring back to the car.

    Good luck.

I can’t wait to read about you in the paper. I can see it now:

“DERANGED HOUSEWIFE BURIES SLAUGHTERED HUSBAND JONATHON AND HIS BEST FRIEND STEVE AFTER FINDING THEM MAKING LOVE IN HER NUPTIAL BED.”

Jon and Steve's dog was also found near the bodies.

Wife claims they went on a hunting trip and never returned, yet forensic evidence says otherwise.

No comment has been released by the District Attorney or the police chief, Detective Aaron Templeton, thus far.

    Story begins on page 73.

    WOW. This is exciting !!!

  3. Have you considered renting a mini-excavator to do this? You should place a $ value on your time and consider getting a machine to do this.

Check out your local online yellow pages for rental services that rent either a backhoe or tracked excavator by the day. Around me (CT), a Kubota loader/backhoe or Caterpiller excavator rent for about $150-250/day plus fuel and insurance. I've done this several times and the savings in time, labor and back pain is enormous. You could probably have your hole dug in about an hour...add some extra time if you hit subterrenean obstructions like large rocks and/or roots.

Also: CBYD - "Call Before You Dig" if you live in a urban area where underground utilities may be present or you have sewer/water/septic lines under your property.

  4. Use a big shovel???  Just kidding and lol, digging a grave at night hmmmmmmm   Just kidding.

Start out using a shovel with a point at the end, and shovel up the outline of what size you need, then just continue to dig, If your now used to this kind of work you may want to wear gloves, and you might get blisters on your hand.
