How to dilute alcohol?

okay, well i usually just get my alcohol from my friends but this time i'm going to take some from my parents stash, i've done it before but this time i want to dilute it with something so it won't seem like i took some, what's a good thing to dilute it with? water? i've done it before but it losses it's nasty vodka taste, is there anything else i can put in it?

Please don't be stupid and dilute it with something harmful like rubbing alcohol or some other chemical like paint thinner or something.  You don't want to poison your parents.  

I think water is your best bet.  The only thing that is consumable to replace alcohol is drinking alcohol if you are going for that alcohol flavor.

anything besides water that you use will change the taste even more.  A better plan is to just get your own "stash" and not have to worry about that c**p anymore.
