How to disable USB ports in Laptops ?

How can i disable usb ports to avoid use of pen drives ,external hardisk in my Laptop (Dell Inspiron 1525;O.S:Windows Vista) ?

Best option would be to disable it in BIOS settings. I don't have Dell laptop, but if you go to BIOS settings (and have reasonably new version of BIOS), you should see an option for disabling USB

This is really easy go to your device manager and select the USB drive and then select disable(might use another term but you get what im saying)  

Then you are all set :)
