  1. I'm assuming you want to drop the mast.  It's a` lot harder than it looks, but your right at the limit of the size to try it your self.  First get four or more helpers.  Tie extra `lines on the mast for control.  release the back stay completely.  loosen but don't release the upper stays.  Then loosen the fore-stay, and let the mast tip back.  If you don't have a `hinged mast step rig a board to rest the butt of the mast against.  Have a strong person lower the mast and two helpers to control side to side.  As it comes back have extra hands catching it as it lowers.  Once horizontal, everyone helps hand it off the boat.

Be sure there are no electrical or other obstructions with-in 50 ft.  Good Luck!!!!!   Better yet get the marina to do it.

  2. The classic Tornado trailer carries the boat tilted up at about a 30 deg angle to achieve the 8' width limit. I have had 3 different sailing cats and all 3 had different methods of attaching/bolting the hulls to the cross-members. It may depend on who originally built your boat.  Try a search online. Surely there is a Tornado owners site out there ...

  3. Some confusion here.  Did you mean "dismantle our Tornado THEN to convert" or "dismantle out Tornado THAN to convert"?

    And easier than what?

If you are talking taking the rigging down, that's one thing.  If you are talking destruction of the boat it's quite another.
