I have a couch in very bad shape (dog ate holes in one cushion, sunken in on one side). I don't think it is in good enough shape to donate so I don't know what to do with it. I can take it a few towns over to the DPW and they will trash it for $150. gotjunk.com costs about the same. Are there any other cheaper options?

  1. in a lot of places you put stuff by the curb and it mysteriously disappears without any trash pickup.

there is somebody who wants almost anything you pitch except used pampers.

  2. My garbage company picks up furniture if I call them. You should do the same.Anyplace I've ever lived the garbage co. always picked up big items on request.8/27

  3. go to craigs list and post it under free stuff if someone wants it they have to pick it up, im in weymouth by the way

  4. Look for Deseret Industries under Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in your phone book.  They take furniture and refurbish it to teach how to refurbish and to give it to the less fortunate or for resale.  They will take it for free.
